365/79 ~ labour strike

It’s not hard to imagine the disappointment of having a date fixed in ones mind when something should happen (ie: due date), and finding that said thing has yet to happen.

What an absolutely bizarre feeling, of “now what?”. IMG_3930So, I partook of two parties today, and  I guess I will keep on going until the little one decides to show up.

This is an oak leaf, found on the Great Wall of China. My favorite image of the wall.

365/76 ~ anticipation

Today, as I am at the babys due date, I see a lot of similarities ( I use “similarities” loosely, I should probably put it in quotes) between the anticipation of Christmas,  and having our baby…

Both experiences are intensely exciting; Both experiences are unscripted, you don’t know what you are going to get; And for both, depending on how “civilized” your gift opening event is… it’s a big mess.

And, there’s a part of you that just wants to get the whole thing over with.

Ok, so there are elements that are not similar, like the pain of birthing a baby.

Hopefully you don’t have that kind of gift opening experience.

I do, however, hope your dreams come true this holiday season.

Merry Christmas
